Open House 2024 - FYC Welcomes the Public!

Fanshawe Yacht Club was founded in 1953.

Join us at the Annual FYC Open House as we celebrate more than 70 years of fun on the water in London!

Fanshawe Yacht Club welcomes members of the public to tour our facilities and to try sailing (weather permitting)!

Our club will be open Saturday, May 25 & Sunday, May 26, 2024

Times: 10:00am – 4:00pm

Admission is Free

Check out our club facilities at beautiful Fanshawe Lake:

  1. Enter through Fanshawe Conservation Area main gate off of Clarke Road & let the gate personnel know you are coming to the FYC Open House
  2. Proceed across the dam and right to the campground to check in with personnel
  3. Follow the campground road to FYC’s gate where our Greeters will meet you and help you to begin your tour.
Sailing can be very accessible for all!  There are various ways of getting out on the water, learning to sail, even buying a sailboat which won’t break the bank (for example, affordable sailboats are often listed for sale on Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace!).  Our members are happy to answer any questions you might have about sailing.

Speak with members about the club and various sailing opportunities, learn more about the Sailing School programs for youth and adults, and if the weather cooperates, try sailing if you are over age 6 (or turning 6 in 2024)*. Lifejackets will be provided.

Learn how affordable, accessible and fun sailing can be!

For more info about FYC, please visit our About FYC page.

Please Note:

*Due to safety concerns, children under age 6 are NOT allowed on the Main Dock, nor will FYC members supervise children if their parents want to try sailing. All Children must be supervised by a Parent or Guardian at all times while visiting FYC!

**All visitors and members of FYC must sign an Open House Waiver.  Click Here to print out a Waiver and bring it to Open House to hand in at the main Clubhouse – Doug MacKenzie Hall. Otherwise, blank waivers will be in the Clubhouse, your starting point on the tour.
